1) 500 grams thick curd,
2) 200 grams Urad Dal,
3) Oil for frying,
4) Red Chili Powder,
5) Chat Masala,
6) Roasted Cumin Seed Powder,
7) 3 to 4 tbsp Sugar,
8) Salt to taste,
9) Coriander leaves
Method:
Soak Urad Dal for 3 to 4 hours and grind to fine paste.
take the ground batter in a bowl and add salt. Stir the batter
to make it more light and fluffy and keep aside.
Heat a kadai with oil for deep frying. When the oil becomes
slightly hot, fry the vadas in the kadai. When they become
light gold and crisp, put on paper towel so that the excess oil is absorbed.
For Assembling :
In a bowl, add dahi and sugar and mix them, add a pinch of salt, chat masala, red chilly powder and cumin seed powder.
Put the vadas in water and squeeze them and put in serving bowl.
Arrange the vadas in the serving bowl add the mixture of dahi and garnish with chat masala and chilly powder and coriander leaves optionally.
Special Tip:
Dahi vadas will taste better when chilled.
